Welcome to THEMES 2011!
IEEE-THEMES: 11 September 2011
TOPIC: EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES FOR VIDEO COMPRESSION
The IEEE Signal Processing Society initiated a new, technical series called IEEE-Thematic Meetings on Signal Processing (IEEE-THEMES) in 2010. IEEE-THEMES is a one-day workshop organized in a single track to cover intensively one focus area each meeting.
IEEE-THEMES 2011, the second in this series, will focus on Emerging Technologies in Video Compression and be held in conjunction with IEEE ICIP 2011.
Accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Journal on Selected Topics in Signal Processing.
IEEE-THEMES 2011 is scheduled for 11 September 2011 in the Square Brussels Meeting Center, located in the heart of the capital city of Belgium, the political and administrative capital of Europe, Brussels.
Topics for IEEE-THEMES 2011 include, but are not limited to:
- Quality assessment and artifact detection methods for perceptual video coding
- Rate quality optimization for next generation video compression
- Static and dynamic texture analysis, classification and synthesis for video compression
- Advanced motion models for video compression
- Methods for exploiting long term picture dependencies
- New sampling methods
- Exploitation of increased spatiotemporal resolutions and higher dynamic range
- Network-centric video coding, system solutions and proposed architectures
